“We Bring Fear” by Charles Bowden

With the news of the capture of Tony Tormentas nephew in Port Isabel, and the rash of kidnappings in Starr County, the drug war is apparently getting closer and closer. There are five pages in this story from Charles Bowden, and it is wll worth the read.

The story is from 2010 published in “Mother Jones”. Charles Bowden and the Mexican reporter protaganist of this story have come to the same conclusion that I have:
That Mexico is more and more becoming a military dictatorship. If you have eyes to see and are not in total denial, this is the inescapable conclusion.

And what of their neighbor to the north? Our violence and war and deprivation of liberties is on a much grander scale.
