It was getting a little warmish, a little humid but not bad for early afternoon in Harlingen Texas. I was sitting outside the Harlingen library talking to a researcher that was actually in The Rio Grande Valley researching! I for one am glad someone is taking an interest. Erin Madden, a graduate student and research and teaching assistant from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Border issues tend to be ignored by northern academia, so I felt both honored and privileged to be interviewed as part of her project. This project is her Doctoral Thesis on Border Health and conditions along the border. The thesis may work into becoming a book. She’s looking for interviews and information help with her research.
You can contact Erin directly at efmadden@wisc.edu or edgar@writersoftheriogrande.com and we will pass on your message.
