Twisted Muse

Twisted Muse

Twisted Muse

Lately

every woman that surrounds me becomes a lioness

a black widow spider

a 50’s house wife with meatloaf dinner dreams

every man that entices me is like a closet plague

With swastika foreheads

and toxic radiation for a heart

every song I hear

is the melody of the meek

and the musical notes of the humble

with a black onyx heart

and buried memories that smell of the dead

every photo is see evokes the peacock inside of me

it colors you in rainbows for me

every photo I see takes me to REM sleep

where you and I meet again

Like an 1800’s ship finding its way home

lately every kiss I feel is the kiss of hope

whispers in the unseen night

and I am the dewy mist

that nurtures the Venus flytraps outside your semi open nucleus

every color I see is a January frozen tree

with stationary leaves that are plagued with the weight of its prior season

quietly whispering devotion

once the moon makes its grand appearance in the sky

every book I read is a book of a coming of age

with words that break the ground around me

And sprout wanna be European culture

Where it once had existed

lately every poem is Poe

and Plath

and Keats

and Keats

they are the words that wake me at 4 in the morning

when the world is volume less and muted

every moment

every will

every sonnet

every ode

every haiku

lately has become a  twisted muse
