Chilly.

A black cat walks back to the porch.

A black face looks out of blankets atop cardboard.

A white face looks out of blankets atop a moldy sleeping bag.

Second-floor balcony homeless,

Their building: front-end loader target.

Four senior women,

The early bus comes up the street.

Warming yellow sun.

Amber overhead bus lights.
