The purpose of the group is to provide a place for writers to gather and discuss informally, poems, what makes a “good” or “great” poem by bringing favorite poems or writers’ own work for feedback. Thousands of art enthusiasts come from the entire region to McAllen’s arts district for First Friday Artwalks. Since it started six years ago, it has quickly become one of the city’s biggest events.
