Shattered mirror…
refractions of darkness and light
What is it you can tell us of our lives?
Broken and shining in every shard there’s truth
And there’s a lie.
Shattered, a mirror of it all
Lies, truth, death and life
Who loves you?
Really, no one but me
And God, that is if he
Exists.
He had better be
Real, if not
The burden of being free
Would long ago have
Crushed
Both you and me.
But I love you
Just like the cow with her cud
Is loved by the bull
Then she loves her calf
And it all goes along
Like it has for so long
Biology, the life force,
Call it love if you want
Some love life
But for those that rule
It is power
And power and love can travel
Only so far
Then one consumes the other
Which position you think
The politicians assume?
It’s not love
I’m not here to kid anyone
Least of all you
Friend, lover, wife
Sons and daughters
I’m talking to you or
Someone just like you
In the shattered mirror there are many visions
If you’re looking for lies
Then there are myriads
And many more to spare
If you’re looking for love
Its standing here
