Ron English has been called “the celebrated prankster father of dollar-pop”. Some of his murals include one on the Berlin Wall’s Checkpoint Charlie in ’89 and the Paelstinian separation wall in the West Bank in ’07. A lot of his work involves commercial billboards with images of Joe Camel, McDonald’s and Mickey Mouse with his own messages that are used against the corporations they represent. English has also done several album covers and some of his paintings were used in the documentary ‘Super Size Me’. His exhibit will be running through to August 14, 2011 at IMAS in Mcallen.
