pigeons by gene novogrodsky copy

Why would an old man pedal his bike among

Benches of tired maids, providers, babies and teens

During a Saturday twilight,

Circle them, look at them,

And then pedal into a red sunset

Along a closed-store main street

With a black pigeon on his shoulder?
