A mild ask of mid and late teens about school, location, studies, attendance.
The reply: “Fuck school!”
A day of weed, cigarettes, vulgar rap (more “fuck”),
Sleeping late, unregistered and un-inspected cars, no drivers’ licenses.
Grandmothers, the shelter, the base
For the porch time, grass selling, reclined chairs ….
Just hours into weeks and later of chilling ….
Some college friends, some nine to five workers have said,
“Well, it’s a response,”
Voices of disdain, voices of envy ….
