Mexican Salute?

One of the many strange things that can be seen in Mexico and Central America is the stiff-armed Fascist or Nazi Salute. While Mussolini and Hitler would adopt this Salute as perhaps their most important symbol and ritual, the evidence points to other than Italian or German provenance. There are various attributions to Ancient Rome and other sources for the origin of the infamous gesture. There is no real evidence for this.

Instead the evidence points to the United States and the Socialist Movement of the 19th century. From there the stiff-armed salute migrated to Mexico and other countries that were very in tune with the socialist movement. School children were taught it along with the Mexican Pledge of Allegiance. It still exists in Latin America today. Of course there are more than one type of socialist. While not agreeing with the ideology, we should not paint them all with the Fascist brush.

So the salute began in the United States, migrated to other socialists in governments to the South, was picked up by Mussolini and Hitler. That’s it in a nutshell. So the point is here when you see the stiff armed socialist salute in Mexico, do not be alarmed, these Latinos are probably not Nazis.
It is only more evidence of the influence that the United States has had over the demonic ideology of National Socialism. This is not widley taught in mainstream history. And neither is the fact that Hitler adquired many of his ideas on eugenics and racial purity from instituitions in the United States. Research Rockefellers and Cold Harbor and Margaret Sanger for more on this.
