Mexican Military on the Border

We have a Military-Narco-Police State to our South. The Mexican Armed Forces are deployed throughout Mexico and especially along the border region. There are 13,000 thousand alone just in the State of Tamialipas. Not the biggest region in mexico, but very sizeable nonetheless. They are currently fighting what amounts to a guerilla civil war in Mexico for control of the drug trade.

With the new laws authorizing the use of the military, and military courts for citizens in the United States, taking a look at Mexico could be both useful and informative. Even pre-cognitive as to what we on North of the Border have to expect in the near future.

I don’t think it likely, but if they’re war-making capabilities are as impressive as their sense of martial style and pomp, then the Mexican Military Machine would certainly be a force to reckon with. But history tells us that the outward brilliance and appearance or a fighting force is often at odds with the effectiveness and operational capacity of that army.

In short, the Mexican Military has been really sucking at implementing Calderon’s drug war.

But I’m sure you will be impressed by the combinations of Old World and Modern Pomp in this intrigueing video. Also the parade of “Adelitas”is “Pura Mexicana.” You won’t see this anywhere else.
