Left Separated

Left Separated

She ascends to the sky
A dot disappears
She’s flying this time as we
Avoid roads of fears

I love you madre
A miracle of sorts
Brownsville South Padre Island
International airport

We used to all go
The whole family
Relaxed and slow
Happy and free

Then came the damn revolution
Freaking fast and furious
A new evolution
The drive turned a lot more serious

Main roads blocked
Bandits dressed in black, now
She ascends to the sky
A new road’s now her track

She left separated
Right after the break of day
A husband and kids bereaved
Good-Bye’s all they could say

Blame it on whomever
The sky turquoise blue
My wife and a mother
We love you, see you soon

Editors note:
Travel to Mexico for many cannot be avoided; but those who can do avoid the bus routes that pass through the Mexican Border States. From Brownsville to Monterrey the plane takes off and as soon as it reaches cruising altitude it begins to land in Monterrey. Worth it if you can thumb your nose at the gang-bangers from 30,000 feet.
