Illegal Love

Illegal Love

Esta canción no es corrido
No es about money and drugs
Pero in a way it might be
About crossing illegal love

For thirty-five years of my vida
On Mexican playas I’ve pleasure found
But never like that of my Susana
She was homeward bound

Our hearts came together one night
But the U.S. government laws don’t conform
Esta canción no es corrido
By the law our love was torn

So somewhere under a bridge
Where Warm River resides
On a tubo instead of a caballo
Crossed my illegal bride

Esta cancion no es corridor
I crossed no money or drugs
Pero in a way it might me
I crossed my illegal love

(Then brevity forsook me and I continued the Border Blosson story)

She ducked under the ledge
Slid past stabbing thorns
On the path of righteousness
Not all laws conform

A Migra copter flew over
A lagging girl fell down
Esta song no es corridor
Pero Susy was not found

Past the open field
A canal, hill, then left turn
A small casa sat still
Under the dry summer fern

A horn honked
Illegal love crossed
No corrido es esta song
I fell in love
On a Mexican bus
Forgive me God if I did wrong

Now at fifty, I sit, watch, and wait
Susana and two lovely girls
Esta cancion no es corrido
Just two hearts from two different worlds
