The Austin band Heartless Bastards makes a gigantic, wide-open sort of road-trip rock, and their 2009 album The Mountain was an absolute gem. The band returns early next year with a new album called Arrow, which they recorded with Spoon’s Jim Eno. And below, you can grab the first song we’ve heard from the album. It’s called “Parted Ways,” and it’s yet another showcase for frontwoman Erika Wennerstrom’s earthy wail.

Austin-based rockers Heartless Bastards have recently signed with Partisan Records, and they have announced their next album, Arrow, to be released on February 14th. Arrow, which is a follow-up to 2009′s The Mountain, was produced by Spoon’s drummer and producer, Jim Eno, at his home studio in Austin, and written by singer Erika Wennerstrom during her travels.
