FOUR-DIMENSIONAL SPACE

ESPACIO DE CUATRO DIMENSIONES

Abre el cielo su boca de infinito
y me traga como se traga una boa a un ratón
Pero yo
me trago el tiempo como las hormigas devoran cadáveres
Adentro a la vida
y más adentro
que me gustaría fueran infinitas también las horas
e insaciable mi estómago reloj
interminable el conteo de mis minutos enteógenos
de este espacio místico tan reducido
y a la vez eternamente descomunal

 

FOURTH DIMENSIONAL SPACE

The sky opens its infinite mouth
and it swallows me like a boa swallows a mouse
But me
I swallow the time like the ants swallow corpses
Into the life
and more into it
That I would like the hours to be infinite too
and insatiable my stomach-clock
endless the counting of my entheogen minutes
of this mystical limited space
that is eternally colossal at the same time

About Erika Said Izaguirre

Erika Said Izaguirre is a Mexican writer born and raised in Tampico, Tamaulipas. She attended the University of Chihuahua where she earned a degree in Spanish Literature. Her poetry and short stories have been published in Mexican newspapers, magazines and books, including the anthologies “Overview of Young Mexican Poetry” (2009), “Women's Cry: Rebel Poetry” (2010), "Hell is a caress" (2011), "Poetry of the Chaos" (2011) and “The voice that sprouds: a Tamaulipas poetry retrospective” (2010). She was adopted by Texas State, and has lived in El Paso, McAllen and San Antonio. Her writing is inspired by dreams, music, metaphysics, sociology and love. She’s a Sagittarius, cat lover, eighties fan and is currently working as a cultural journalist for "El Mañana".
