cafe sign neon

If not in a gas and oil surge boom,

Then the cafés cut their hours, sometimes close.

Look through a dirty window.

Chairs upturned on dusty tables.

No lights.

The wall menu blackboard smudged.

Not to reopen.

If short hours,

Orderly chairs, tables, fresh menu –

But lights out,

On late, off early ….
