What will be:

El grunido del cerdo, o,

El grito del gallo?

Grunt of the pig, or,

Cry of the rooster?

So much evidence for the pig:

Fat-vehicle traffic,

Fast-firing weapons,

Factory jails,

Sweet bribes.

Not as much for the rooster:

Gray dawn,

Soft grass,

Humid silence,

Bent sunflowers.

I walk through and into moments,

Stretching for roosters,

Shrinking from pigs.

 In Spanish

Translation by Edgardo and Trinidad Cantu

Que sera?

 El grunido del cerdo, o,

El grito del gallo?

Grunt of the pig, or,

Cry of the rooster?

Muchos dicen  que  el cerdo prevalecera’

 El traffico retegordisimo

 Armas escupiendo como metrelleta

Prisioneros aprovechados por los ricos bastardos

 La mordida como postre chupada

Por los trompos de los puercos…

 Y por el gallo?

 Ni tanto, muy poco

Madrugada gris y oscuro

Zacate suave

 El silencio entre la humidad

 Marisoles bailantes

Ando entrando y saliendo cada momento

 Anhelando por los gallos

 Evitando los marranos

    nicely written:)

for some reason it reminds me of the ending of animal farm when the animals can no longer tell the difference between the pigs and human beings. The pig won over in that book.
