Charles Bowden in this interview, I might say brilliantly, constructs a structure of sense out of the mad rubble that passes for policy in Mexico today. Some would say, and I confess I am one of them, that the insane genius of the Mexican and American policies that have led to the horror and devastation and (what is becoming more and more evident) total ruin of an entire country is no accident. There is method to the madness, design to the destruction, and twisted reason to the mad logic of murder.
Be that as it may, that discussion needs both space and time for even a partial exposition. By design, or insanity, incompetence, hubris, greed, or any combination of the previous…What is happening now needs to be addressed now. If it’s Murder One, or Murder two, or involuntary or negligent homicide; the fact remains that people are dying by the tens of thousands and if it keeps on long enough, by the hundreds of thousands. History may tell the tale of the machinations that went into globalism, drug war, and intentional (or by chance) creation of failed narco states. Or perhaps it will be covered up as so much is.
By exposing the buck naked emperors of imperial policy: i.e. the drug war and NAFTA, and the hypocritical posturing of our immigration policy, and assorted deadly silliness, perhaps a change can be made. We can only do our best.
