Border Boil Down – September 27, 2011
Over the past weeks there’s been a border security conference in Brownsville. Homeland Secrity has announced new plans to extend the border wall in the levee system. This would be an impermeable wall against illegals and smugglers and flood waters as well. And the unemployment rate remains very high, and in the Rio Grande Valley the arrival of the Winter Tourists is anxiously anticipated.
Meantime the sun is cycling into a solar Maximus and it has been plenty hot.
And that’s just the good news. Here’s the not so good
Border Boil down part 11
It happens every once in a while. I encounter the unexpected conundrum.
The news from along the Rio has been depressingly familiar; heads are literally rolling to our south in Mexico (a female journalist was beheaded in Nuevo Laredo and pictures of her headless, semi-naked body was displayed on the internet). Also two other people were be-headed, two “Chapos” who worked for the Sinaloa cartel. There were some photos accompanying the report, I saw them. Also there is a video making the rounds of the internet, I didn’t watch this myself, I don’t think I need to. Most people don’t. At least not the ones that know what is going on.
For the arm-chair generals and the pudgy neo-cons and the control freak liberals, who have recently learned that war is an excellent way of imposing their agenda on a people, it should be required viewing. If this is what they want to impose this is what they get for their efforts. You pay for it, you instigate it, Calderon implements it, this is your war. It’s all yours, so claim it. See what your handy-work has wrought. If after viewing perhaps the most horrific way to die, you say that it is well worth it, then so be it. It’s said that when the head of Hitler’s SS actually visited a death camp in World War 11, he threw up and was very badly shaken when he confronted the fruition of his evil. He got over it, went back to Berlin to plot new, even more efficient atrocities. Perhaps it will be the same with our arm-chair drug warriors.
Or maybe not. Either way in my philosophy coming closer to the actuality of ones actions is the beginning of wisdom. But the thing is I don’t have the heart to provide the link.
