Who am I and who are we

To judge what is what can’t be

Who is right and who was wrong

Let the bones rest

The cause has been long lost

They gave their lives, and loves and family

They may have been fools

Just because

Their banners flew their dream

The winds of the years have reclaimed every song

All have believed and all have been wrong

And sometimes right

The tyrannies of government, culture and church

With time one and all take a turn for the worse

Alien cultures and foreign tongues bring terror, but sometimes less

Than what has been going on

Back home amongst the people so beloved

So weep for your leaders the ones that have died

Then cry a river for the ones left alive

That died to the cause and rose up for the coin

Their lips move like a miracle, having sold away their hearts

The song of the south flaps in seccesh time

Young men ache for sweethearts

And their sweethearts still cry

Every man that ever fought under a flag was a fool

Every man was a hero

There must be a rule

Not for me to judge all the right from the wrong

God has eternity to sort it all out, so

Leave their bones rest

Leave their ragged Battle Flag alone

The war is over

Johnny Reb has gone home
