“I sincerely hope you enjoy these poems. I have put an
enormous amount of time in putting this book together
and selecting the poems included in this small volume.
I hope you will especially enjoy the poems about Palestine.
It is a dark and dreadful world the Palestinians live in. I
do not write these poems to offend the conservative
audience, but to express my true heart in all its colors. I
feel there is no mistake here in supporting the rights of the Palestinians to their own land.”
Here is one poem:
LOVED ONE
Loved one, you are like a child
who flutters her eyes
like bashful toys.
Loved one, you are the sister
encompassing my desire
to enter into a Word,
a Word tranquil and pure.
The simplicity of language between
us makes our friendship whole.
Desire sets its bounds
in written stone.
The barrier of Time and Dream
calls and beckons toward me.
You, loved one, are silent.
You stem your artifice from
an oblivion of horns
to know me well.
Then silence shakes its rattle
to let loose our bonds.
We are awakened in a struggle
for union.
